Wesley Chapel New Restaurants and Summer Events to Know

Something is happening on this side of I-75 that most residents haven't fully clocked yet. For two decades, the default weekend answer in Wesley Chapel was Wiregrass, then a chain, then home. That map is being redrawn in real time. Between the container-park experiment at KRATE, the second-generation retail village at The Hub at Bexley, and the newest arrival opening in waves right now off Wesley Chapel Boulevard, the town is quietly assembling a trio of walkable, independent-heavy gathering spots. Chef-owners are choosing Wesley Chapel first now, and the summer calendar reflects it.

Here is what's actually opening, what's happening, and where to point out-of-town guests when they ask you to show them "the good stuff."

The Three Hubs, Now That There Are Three

Until this year, KRATE at The Grove and The Hub at Bexley were the only two walkable food-and-event clusters north of Bruce B. Downs. That mattered because it meant one was always a drive. Now there are three, and they sit close enough that residents can rotate.

The $24 million Hub at Lexington development from Center Connect Development brings approximately 40,000 square feet of small-shop retail space to Wesley Chapel Boulevard near Interstate 75, and it's the second Hub concept from siblings Courtney Bissett-Hayes and Paul Bissett, who previously developed The Hub at Bexley, a 44,000-square-foot retail village that opened in 2022. The development features six major buildings and is designed to be more of a neighborhood hangout than a corporate plaza.

Read that as the operating thesis. The Bissetts already proved the format works at Bexley. Lexington is the sequel, and the tenant list is where it gets interesting for anyone who has been complaining that Wesley Chapel dining leans heavy on national chains.

The Hub at Lexington: The Lineup Worth Knowing

Buildings have been turned over to tenants. Co-developers Courtney Bissett-Hayes and Paul Bissett say now that the buildings themselves have been completed and turned over to the tenants, it will be several weeks before the first businesses start turning on their lights to several months for all of the previously announced restaurants to be fully open, with the first businesses opening this quarter. Openings have already begun. Here's who is coming and why each one matters.

• Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken at 27093 Halter Loop. A full-service, sit-down Korean fried chicken restaurant with table service, alcohol, and an expanded dine-in experience, with a menu that goes well beyond chicken, featuring bulgogi, tteokbokki, fried rice, dumplings, bao buns, and Korean tacos. This is not the mall-food-court version of Bonchon. Sit-down with a bar changes the calculus for a Friday night.
• La Creación Bistro. The sister restaurant to La Creación Express in the KRATEs, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a completely different menu than what they serve at the container park. If you already like the express version at KRATE, this is the grown-up sibling.
• The Monk's Indian Fusion. The menu is expected to include favorites like butter chicken, biryani, samosas, and dosas alongside spicy chili dishes and Sichuan-inspired flavors, and the Wesley Chapel location will mark the brand's first Florida location. First-in-Florida is the phrase to notice. Wesley Chapel used to be where concepts arrived years after Tampa. That is inverting.
• Saigon Pho Wesley Chapel. From the team behind Banh Mi & Boba at The Hub at Bexley, Saigon Pho will bring Vietnamese comfort food to the development, with a menu expected to include pho noodle soups, grilled meat plates, banh mi sandwiches, and additional Vietnamese staples ideal for both dine-in meals and takeout.
• Farmer's Milk Café & Bakery. A café-style option focused on pastries, cakes, breads, specialty coffee drinks, and all-day breakfast offerings, with roots in South Florida leaning into Eastern European-inspired baked goods and desserts while creating a cozy café atmosphere inside the development.
• Brew Bar Self Pour paired with Urban Crunch Creamery Café. The combo will offer self-pour beer and wine, similar to what the Brew Bar offers at the KRATEs, plus ice cream, açai, coffee and frozen drinks like daiquiris. One counter for parents, one for kids, same room.
• The Landing Bar & Grill, the sports-bar anchor. The longtime Wesley Chapel sports bar is relocating into a larger space at The Hub at Lexington Oaks.
• Cinnaholic for vegan cinnamon rolls, The Clubhouse Golf Simulator for evenings when the summer heat rules out the range, and Headlines Barber Shop, which is already open.

Nine sit-down or specialty concepts inside one 40,000 square-foot property, most of them independent or first-market. That is the shift.

The Standalone Openings You Should Also Know

The hubs aren't the whole story. Two openings outside them deserve equal weight.

Tallo Restaurant & Bar at 4424 Friendly Way, Suite 105, in the Avalon Park area. Wesley Chapel is getting a major culinary upgrade with the opening of Tallo, a new Caribbean-American fusion restaurant, and as the only Caribbean-American fusion restaurant in the immediate area, Tallo is poised to make waves in Wesley Chapel's burgeoning dining scene. Signature dishes include the Garlic Surf and Turf, a combo of filet mignon, lobster, garlic cream sauce, asparagus, and aioli cream potatoes, and the Churrasco, a Puerto Rican favorite featuring skirt steak with chimichurri and Puerto Rican fried rice and beans, and beyond Puerto Rican cuisine, the menu highlights Cuban, Dominican, and eventually Jamaican influences. Weekend brunch runs 10 AM to 3 PM. Owner José Sato said the quiet part out loud on why he chose the address: Wesley Chapel's rapid growth is part of what drew Sato to the area after moving to Tampa in 2020 and working at Boca in Sarasota, and he said "I think we have an impact here. It's growing so fast here… I wanted to come to Wesley Chapel before it becomes like a big city."

That is the underlying trend. Chef-owners are pricing Wesley Chapel as an early move.

Greenlane at 24801 SR-54, just west of the Premium Outlet mall. The new spot opened on Feb. 25, 2026, and features the brand's first dedicated mobile-order drive thru. If you've spent any time in the SR-54 turn-lane queues, a drive-thru salad concept engineered specifically for mobile orders is a quiet quality-of-life win.

KRATE at The Grove: What's Actually on the Calendar

KRATE has become the closest thing Wesley Chapel has to a de facto town square. Its own operators describe it as a place to visit unique shops and restaurants featuring different artisan products and cuisines, and be entertained by performances on the KRATE stage showcasing members of the community, promoting locally-owned businesses and vendors. The recurring events are what turn it from a food court into a habit.

The recurring calendar to save. Market Elaine on the first Friday of every month from 5:30 to 9:30 PM. Wiregrass Fresh Market on the first and third Saturdays on Paseo Drive. Matt Capps on the KRATE outdoor stage roughly the first Friday of the month through October.

Market Elaine happens every 1st Friday night, bringing together local shopping, delicious eats, and family-friendly fun from 5:30 to 9:30 PM at The Grove, and the Fresh Market at Wiregrass runs the 1st and 3rd Saturdays on Paseo Drive with a diverse array of over 80 seasonal vendors. The Krate Outdoor Stage has Matt Capps booked for Friday July 3, Friday August 7, Friday September 4, and Friday October 2, 2026. That is a summer built out four months in advance.

Recent one-offs give a sense of the range. The KRATE Foam Party at 5817 Goldview Pkwy featured a live DJ keeping the energy going while guests enjoyed one of the more unique summer kickoff events in town. A free outdoor concert celebrated the connection between humans, music, and the elements of nature, featuring a new piece written by local composer Brendan Sweeney called "No Way Out," performed at KRATE at the Grove.

If you have friends in town and forty-five minutes to plan the evening, this is the safest bet in Pasco. Walk the vendors at Market Elaine, eat at the containers, catch the stage act, drive home.

The Weekends Away From KRATE

Not every Saturday belongs to The Grove. A few dates worth putting on the fridge:

• Cars & Coffee at Jacobs Mitsubishi, 5305 Eagleston Blvd. A growing local favorite, this car meet brings together everything from exotics and classics to custom builds and trucks, a relaxed community gathering for car enthusiasts and families alike, with giveaways and a strong turnout expected.
• Back to School Blast at The Shops at Wiregrass. Presented by Bright Horizons, happening Sat 25 Jul 2026 from 10:00 AM onwards at The Shops at Wiregrass.
• Great American Backyard Bash at 7727 Boyette Rd. A large community celebration honoring America's 250th, bringing together food, music, activities, and family-friendly fun, from games and crafts to live entertainment and a tribute concert to close out the evening, built as a full afternoon of community celebration.
• Paint & Sip at B&B Theaters. A relaxed evening inside B&B Theaters offering a mix of creativity and downtime, where guests can enjoy a guided paint session while food and drinks are available on site, all supplies included, and the event supports a local nonprofit; this is a 21+ event.

Why This Summer Is Different

Look at the tenant mix at Lexington. Look at Sato choosing Wesley Chapel because he wanted to arrive before it "becomes like a big city." Look at Greenlane picking Wesley Chapel for the first drive-thru in the brand. These are operator bets, and operators tend to be right about where the density is heading.

For residents, the practical read is simpler. The number of walkable, sit-down, non-chain dinner options within a fifteen-minute drive of most homes north of SR-54 is roughly doubling this year. The number of curated weekend events on any given first Friday is now three or four instead of one. The rhythm of local life is thickening in a way that used to require a trip down I-75.

That is worth knowing about the place you already live in.
